Pulse Polio Immunization

National Immunization Day is organizing in District of Diu since 1995 to free Diu from Polio, children below 5 year children is administrated 2 drop of Polio and the achievement of the target is 100 % goal. No A F P cases have been reported since last 10 years. The Medical Officers, paramedical Workers, Anganwadi workers and volunteers are involved for the said programme.

National Filaria Control Programme

Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination (Filaria Day) a National Level Programme is organizing in Diu as per the directive from the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme to eradicate the elephantiasis diseases. Under the Mass Drug Administration people are given DEC Tablets of 100 mg accordingly to age group, the Health Staff, Anganwadi workers and Volunteers have accelerated their all efforts for achieving the goal target. This activity is implementing since 2004 and at present there are 61 patients with elephantiasis.

Malaria Programme

Anti-Malaria Awareness Campaign is organizing every year from 1st June to 30th June under the National Vector Borne Diseases, the purpose is to make people aware about the cause of Dengue, Malaria, Filaria and Chikangunia, which is transmitted by mosquito’s bites. Other Prevention and control of Malaria and water borne diseases is also one of the modes for awareness.

PNDT Act

The Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex selection) Act, 1994 is implemented in Diu District since May, 1999. The U T Admn of Daman and Diu has notified a Committee member for District of Diu under the PNDT Act, wherein, the Health Officer, Primary Health Centre, Ghoghla-Diu is appointed as Appropriate Authority and Advisory committee member consist of Collector, Diu as Chairman, Medical Officer, C.D.P.O., Director of Bal Bhavan, Red Cross Society Diu Branch and Pvt. Practitioner are the member. Advisory Committee members meet every 3 months to assess the implementation of the said Act.

PFA Act

PFA Act is implemented in Diu, at present are – establishment registered in District of Diu under PFA Act and every year the licenses are renew as per the norms. Prescribe fees are collection for renewal the License. The Food samples are collection and sent --- Vadodara Gujarat State for analysis which is nearest place for Diu.

Other Activities

HIV Sentinel Surveillance organized under the AIDS Control Society and serum samples are collection from the Antenatal mothers for VDRL & HIV test.
WORLD AIDS DAY is observed on 1st December, rally is organizing from different places to make the occasion and awareness. All the leading citizens, Officers, Panchayat members, Municipal Councilors are invited to participate in the rally, the students and others were lined up and led in procession to various areas. The students are refreshed with snacks, drawing competition are also organized for the student from the schools. This Primary Health Centre has organized.
The School Health Programme conducts every academic year and covers all the schools / Institutes including aided /Pvt schools of Diu District, students from 1st to Vth Std are examined by the medical team and students diagnose with various diseases are administered with treatment and medicines. Also School T.T. & D.T. Immunization programme conduct every year, wherein the students of 5 years are administered with DT, 10 years with T.T. and 16 years with T.T.
Family Heath Awareness Campaign organizes as per the direction from NACO and Project Director, Daman.
World population Day is organized on 11th July every to create the mass awareness about the issue of explosive Population and rally also take out round the town and in rural area.
