The main Scenario function in P.H.C

1. Out door & Indoor Patients treatment, OPD is conduct from 9:00 am to 12;00 Noon and 3:00 to 4:00 pm (Saturday half day working) for Outdoor patients treatment, emergency services is provided round the clock. And having 30 Beded capacity for admitting the indoor patients.
2. Emergency service of Ambulance available round the clock for further management and tackle the emergency cases
3. Services of certain specialist as such Pediatrician, ENT surgeon and Eye surgeon Orthopedic Surgeon and Gynecologists are made available on visiting charge for conducting O.P.D. once a week for catering the health needs in general. Services of Physiotherapist, Homeopathic and Ayurvedic services are also made available on visiting charges. Moreover, efforts are on to facilitate better services of other expert specialist.
4. Other units viz. Rural Medical Dispensary at Vanakbara, 6 Sub Centers covering Urban & Rural areas are functioning under the administrative control of Health Officer. Besides other Sectional unit vizly Malaria Unit, Filaria Unit, Leprosy Unit, Dental Unit, Family Welfare Unit is functioning under PHC. Facilities such as Laboratory, Labour Room, X- Ray Unit and Operation theatre are well-equipped and made efficacy.
5. All types of medicines / Drugs available as prescribed by the Medical Officers and Visiting Specialist / Doctors which are provided without any fees / charges to Patients. Pharmacy unit is fully computerized with soft programme for posting the medicines. Surgical Instrument for various types is made available to tackle the emergency cases.
6. Under this Health Deptt. 04 Societies is functioning in District of Diu vizly AIDS Control Society, Dist. Leprosy Control Society. District T B Control Society and National Rural Health Mission for implementation of all the Health programmes from time to time.
7. Conducting OPD at Sub Centre under Rural area by Medical Officers twice in a week at every centers and Conducting the National Programme and Health check up Camps. Medicines are provided at all the Sub Centre for the Patients.

Main functionaries of Rural Medical Dispensary

1. The Rural Medical Dispensary, Vanakbara and Ghoghla is functioning under the administrative Control of Health Officer, P.H.C. Ghoghla-Diu.
2. Presently, the R M D has recently expanded by providing emergency services with Indoor Patient facilities, Casualty and Ambulance service for the rural sector. New contractual staffs are recruited for smooth and efficiency running the Dispensary after vagarious demand from the rural public and Panchayat.
3. Routine OPD is being conducted by the Medical Officers during the normal works hrs.
4. The Rural Medical Dispensary is being closed consequent shifting of its staff to P.H.C. as such few regular are deployed on working arrangement at Govt Hospital, Diu.

Main functionaries of Dental Unit

• Routine OPD is being conducted by the Public Health Dentist during the normal working hrs.

Main functionaries of Malaria Unit

1. Planning to deal with the epidemic has to be through out the as a part of over-all Anti Malaria and national Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme action Plan.
2. Forth Nightly visit to each family and enquiry about presence of fever cases in the Family, Blood smear of the person having fever or giving history of the fever.
3. Administration of presumptive treatment for fever cases after Blood smear.
4. Administration of the radical treatment to the positive Malaria cases.
5. 6 day follow up smear of the Malaria patients after completion of radical treatment.
6. Season residual spraying operation during transmission season May to September in three round each round 45 days.
7. Focal spraying in the infected area.
8. Searching of source of Mosquito breeding place and their Control and reduction.
9. Introduction of Larvecidal fish (guppy Fish) in the overhead water tanks, wells ponds, cistern, unused and use wells.
10. Development of hatchery for growth of guppy fish.
11. Mass Programme for elimination of Mosquito breeding places, Larvecidal activities and Fogging Operation.
12. IEC ACTIVITIES to educate community in general in particular above adoption of methods to prevent Mosquito breeding and also measures to protect them selves from Mosquito bites.

Main functionaries of Filaria Unit

1. Night blood smears collection in area and detected positive carriers.
2. Mosquitoes collection and dissection for vector density & infection area classified in to categories Low, Medium and high indicates.
3. Spraying operation with the insecticide M.L. oil. Baytex and Abate. Weekly draining Kundi, Un-used wells, Septic Thanks, Pound and under cistern tanks.
4. Weekly Spraying in the breeding places.
5. Filaria positive carrier 12 days D.E.C. tablet and follow slides.
6. Covering of Mosquito nets on gas pipe of septic tanks in all the areas.
7. Introduction of Guppy fish in use and non use wells / pounds and other mosquito breeding places.

Main functionaries of Leprosy Unit

1. Population Survey Works, School visited.
2. New cases is detected and cases to be treated or curried & maintained of relevant information of Leprosy Cases.
3. Under Leprosy Control Programme, every year modified Leprosy Elimination campaign is carried out in the District. Total population of District is being examined by the Para medical workers and doctors in search of leprosy patients.

Main functionaries of Family Welfare Unit

1. OPD is being conducted at the Sub Centre by Medical Officer on weekly schedule.
2. Motivation of eligible couple for Family Welfare Planning.
3. Supplementation of Contraception. Oral pills, Nirodh and Copper T. Motivation by ANMs BHWS other Health Workers Immunization of Children against tetanus Poliomyelitis, Mums, Measles, Tuberculosis, Petusis diphtheria and etc.
4. Service to Pregnant Women. IEC activities, RCH activities.
5. Function of Sub Centers in Rural & Urban area under the administrative Control of Health officer.
6. Facilities Schedule of Immunization of Child, Antenatal, T.T. for mother
7. Field survey on various National Programme & Health activities.
8. Assist the Medical Officer during OPD at Sub Centre
9. Delivery cases facilities at Sub Centers.
